Civic Leader, Community Activist
During her years in public service, Beverly Wallace Whitfield was the first female in The Bahamas and the Caribbean to hold the position of Government Chief of Protocol. Prior to this, she served as Secretary to the first Bahamian Governor-General.
Widow of freedom fighter Sir Cecil, Beverly is known as a community activist and has been active in many volunteer organizations. Now retired, she still enjoys volunteering and says: “…give and do things for others wherever you can. I think it’s important to share yourself.”
