Crisis Centre Founder, Human Rights Advocate

Dr. Dean-Patterson has been a voice for victims, and a pioneer in the fight against abuse for decades. She founded The Bahamas Crisis Centre in 1982 to respond to the needs of victims of sexual, physical and psychological abuse.

She launched the Healthy Teen campaign, to help students develop productive relationships. She advocates for legislation to protect victims and has founded the Council for the Disabled, the Caribbean Association of Rehabilitative Therapists, and The Bahamas Association of Social Workers.
