Tailor, Athlete
Leroy Archer (deceased 2021) has been called the greatest soccer player in Bahamian history, heralded for his technical skill on the field. He played during the 40s, 50s and 60s, blazing a trail for others to follow.
After retiring he continued to referee in the senior league and coach at youth level. During his early 20s he opened a tailor shop, which he still operates now in his 90s.
Affectionately known as “Uncle Lee”, until he passed away he could be found at his modest tailor shop, sharing nostalgic moments, stories, wise words, and of course, tailoring.
