Street Philosopher

Potcake is known by pretty much everyone. His real name is Locksley Thompson, he is in his early 60s, and resides on the street. He can usually be found at the corner of Shirley and Church streets.

He is fondly referred to as the Bahamas’ Street Philosopher, because his road-weary, hubcap-laden shopping cart is emblazoned every day with a new handwritten sign – bearing his philosophies on current affairs. His oft-witty words of wisdom have been featured in The Tribune. He also has a Twitter account.
